I am impressed by the opulent, Arabian Nights style set- this DVD doesn’t have the cheap look of so many bellydance DVD’s and videos. The camerawork is not too flashy, and we get plenty of close-ups of shimmying hips and breasts, and many an undulating belly. I would have liked more foot close-ups, but that’s just my personal taste! Most of all I like the dancers. So many of them are just so beautiful. I already had performance DVD’s/videos by Suhaila Salimpour, Ansuya and Rania, and it’s great to see them again on this DVD. I hadn’t seen Amar Gamal before, she is such a sexy dancer. I cannot recommend this DVD highly enough!

Well, I’m not a belly dancer. And, I don’t subscribe to artsy dissertations on a particlular dancer’s “interpretation” of the music. If you like to watch women dance, this DVD delivers. On the downside, I didn’t particularily care for Suhaila Salimpour’s routines. In relation to the other dancers, her performances were way too dramatic (read “artsy”) for my taste. I much prefer to watch a dancer that looks like she’s enjoying herself. Bellydance scholars may say that I’m full of it and that I don’t know what I’m talking about. Maybe so, but I know what I like. Ansuya’s performances, however, were standouts.

My opinion – go get it! It is an excellent bellydance DVD! In few segments there were too much smoke but that was the only down side. Overall I will rate it 5 Stars!

These women are hot as firecrackers. Ansya, Sonia, Rachel Brice & Riana

I have been a Bellydance superstar fan ever since I went nearly crazy
with desire seeing them on McEnroe several years ago.
Every dvd they make gets me so excited.
Rachel brice solo dvd’s are also very worth while.
Before I got married I spent many nights setting the dvd player
on repeat play of a round robin of Ansya, Sonia, and Rachel Brice
segments as I blasted off with a bowl of prime Ganja.
My wife frowns on such activity so that is in my past.

The cameraman went on vacation and was replaced with interns. Choppy filmwork, roving cameras, a plant in the way obstructing the view, close ups of the drummers instead of the dancer and the digitized background make this a decent DVD but you may need a dramamine afterwards to soothe your jostled stomach.
However, the dancers are fantastic, and if you can tolerate the swinging camera, it’s an essential. If the cameras in Blair Witch Project made you ill, see the live version instead.
