What are some exercises I can do to strengthen the muscles necessary for belly dance floor work?

I have been dancing Tribal belly dance for just over three years but have never done floor work. I would like to move into Triberet and learn some solo work but my muscles are not strong enough to do things like back bends, belly roles, etc. What exercises will help me build these muscles?

I suggest that you go to tribe.net… and look at the tribal tribes…it has been such a useful site…and there will be lots of dancers who can give you tips and advice…even resources….from all over the world…better than yahoo answers for this type of question… really the best place to ask:)

get a belly dance workout,it cooperates exercises to strenghthen muscles while dancing.ok the muscles for backbends would be mostly the: back(obviously),stomache and thighs.so exercises you need are ones that target those areas e.g leg lifts for the thighs and back and for the stomache pelvic tilts.you can research the exercises for details
